Xin Geng is a Chair Professor of Southeast University, China, Executive Vice Dean of the Graduate School, and Director of Key Laboratory of New Generation Artificial Intelligence Technology and Its Interdisciplinary Applications, Ministry of Education, China. He previously served as Dean of the School of Computer Science and Engineering, the School of Software, and the Executive Dean of the School of Artificial Intelligence. He is a recipient of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars and the Excellent Young Scientists Fund, and a Distinguished Fellow of the International Engineering and Technology Institute (IETI).

His research primarily focuses on machine learning, pattern recognition, and computer vision, and he has published over 150 papers in leading international academic journals and conferences in these fields. He has received several prestigious awards, including the Second Prize of the National Natural Science Award, the First Prize of the National Teaching Achievement Award, the First Prize of the Ministry of Education Natural Science Award, and the Science Exploration Award.

He currently serves as a member of the Computer Science Discipline Review Group of the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council, a member of the Artificial Intelligence Expert Committee of the Teaching Steering Committee for Computer Science Majors in Higher Education Institutions of the Ministry of Education, Vice President of the Jiangsu Computer Society, Vice Chair of the Visual Big Data Technical Committee of CSIG, Vice Chair of the IEEE Computer Society Nanjing Chapter, member of the Steering Committee of PRICAI, Standing Committee Member of the CCF Artificial Intelligence and Pattern Recognition Committee, Standing Committee Member of the CCF Computer Vision Committee, Standing Committee Member of the Pattern Recognition Committee of the Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence, and member of the Machine Learning Committee of the Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence.

He is also an editorial board member of several journals, including IEEE Transactions on Multimedia, Journal of Multimedia Information Retrieval, Electronics, Mathematical Foundations of Computing, Visual Intelligence, and Journal of Electronics, as well as a young editorial board member of Frontiers of Computer Science. He has served as the Program Committee Chair of PRICAI'18 and as an area chair of prestigious international conferences including IJCAI, CVPR, ACMMM, ICPR, UAI, and WACV.
